SAT Servizi Ambientali continues to actively participate in initiatives organized in schools on proper waste management and the importance of responsible behavior in recycling.
A visit to Valleggia Elementary School, Class 3A, where the children are learning in a fun and engaging way how important it is to sort waste properly, to protect nature and make the world a cleaner and more livable place.
Through games, colorful posters, and lots of curious questions, the young students realized that every action counts, and now they’re ready to take what they’ve learned home and become little ambassadors for recycling!
Another stop was in Loano, where the educators had the opportunity to explain to several school groups what waste is and which materials can be properly recycled and then turned into other useful items.
Elementary school students and middle school students in the town of Loanese tried their hand at identifying the materials used to make the items intended for the various recycling bins, so they could dispose of them properly.
Two events were then held at the Dr. Sordo Elementary School in the town of Pietra Ligure, with the message: “Our actions can make a difference.” Properly sorting materials such as glass, paper, plastic, aluminum, and food waste helps the environment because these materials are returned to the production cycle instead of accumulating in landfills.
SAT Servizi has achieved its goal of recovering 65% of the waste we produce, which is sent for recycling—and thus for material recovery. It is now aiming to recover 85%. ’Sorting waste PROPERLY helps the environment.“.
Another meeting with the first- and second-grade classes at the “Allievo Peressi” Elementary School in Valleggia (municipality of Quiliano). With SAT in attendance, the young students listened attentively to the explanations provided by the educator from CEAS—the Riviera del Beigua Environmental Education Center—regarding the proper methods for waste disposal. “These very young students are incredibly aware of environmental issues!”.
